June 16 Talk: Paleoclimatology and the San Luis Valley, Connie Woodhouse, 2:30 p.m.

June 16 Talk: Geology and Geomorphology of the San Luis Valley: New Perspectives on the Origin                   of the Great Sand Dunes, Richard F. Madole, 4 p.m.

June 23 Talk: The Art of Seeing: Detecting Wildlife Tracks and Other Signs, Tim Armstrong (Museum Members only; meet at Museum at 8 a.m. and drive in a private vehicle caravan to the parking area at the head of San Francisco Creek where we will disembark and hike; limited hiking and moderately strenuous.  Not pets or alcohol allowed.  Bring a sack lunch,  hat, water, hiking shoes, & sunscreen.  The hike is expected to last until 1 or 1:30 p.m.  Please contact the Museum staff in advance if you plan to participate in this field trip.)

July 7 Exhibit Opening & Reception: for Art Washburn's Western Landscapes and Portraits exhibit, and for Yvonne M. Halburian's Petroglyph and Pictograph Series Watercolors exhibit, with a special talk on San Luis Valley Rock art by Kenny Frye, 2-4 p.m.

*July 21 Field Trip: Landscaping with Native Plants in the San Luis Valley, Jo Ellen Siddens, 7 a.m. (for Museum members only; meet at the Old Spanish Trail monument east of Del Norte; the group will travel in a personal vehicle caravan, 4WD not required)

July 27 Field Trip: A guided Tour of Historic Summitville, John Torbit (meet at the Rio Grande County Museum at 8 a.m.; the group will receive a historic orientation and then travel in a personal vehicle caravan to Summitville, 4WD not required)

July 28 Talk: Rock Art of Southern Colorado, Dr. Lawrence Loendorf, 1 p.m.
